
Bill Mahoney
Bill is founder and President of Mahoney & Associates. He began his insurance career in 1963 as an agent for New York Life Insurance Company. He soon discovered a passion for corporate benefit programs and for 49 years focused on building a respected compensation and benefits management practice. All the while he expanded and refined his knowledge of employee benefits, executive compensation, estate planning, taxation and employee benefits law. In September of 2011 Bill sold the M&A Health and Benefits as well as the Retirement Practice areas to Mercer, the largest employee benefits firm in the world. Mahoney and Associates continues to practice in the Executive Benefits and Estate Planning areas and has a Joint Venture consulting relationship with the Mercer Organization serving as a Senior Advisor.
In addition to his role as President of M&A, Bill serves on the Board of Directors of:
- The Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU)
- Children’s Harbor (Founding Chairman), Pembroke Pines, FL
- United Way of Broward County, Fort Lauderdale, FL
Bill was New York Life’s leading agent in 2006 and 2007 and is currently on the Advisory Board of Directors for the New York Life Insurance Company.
He is a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Top of the Table, the International Forum and the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting. On April 13, 2011 Bill was inducted into the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame at the Nova Southeastern University H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. Bill has been a frequent speaker for a number of both insurance and non-insurance groups over his almost 50 year career in financial services.

On the personal side, Bill is a serious yachting enthusiast spending as much time as possible on his motor yacht the Bottom Line which also serves as one of Bill’s main charitable fund raising tools, having raised well in excess of five million dollars over the years for various charities.
