Children’s Harbor Receives $25k Emergency Response Grant

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Children’s Harbor has been awarded a $25,000 emergency response grant from The Jim Moran Foundation, which strives to improve the quality of life for the youth and families of Florida through the support of innovative programs and opportunities that meet the ever-changing needs of the community.

Like most non-profit organizations, Children’s Harbor’s has been hit hard by COVID-19. The main campus is still open to serve foster care youth and every bed is full. The grant donation will provide Children’s Harbor staff and foster care youth with support for hunger relief, housing, childcare and loss of employment and income as a result of the global pandemic.

“We are so thankful for the generosity of The Jim Moran Foundation during this unprecedented time of need,” said Tiffani Dhooge, president and CEO of Children’s Harbor. “This grant will help not only the children that we serve but the house parents that are going above and beyond for the kids they care for. It is such a tremendous relief to know that we have the flexibility to act in this time of crisis.”

Children’s Harbor is a nationally accredited nonprofit agency with a mission to provide a safe harbor and support to at risk children, youth, and families, keeping brothers and sisters together, strengthening families and rebuilding lives.
