G4L - Paul

boy student

In working with this specific population of youth there are many challenges that we face and even more challenges that they must overcome to come out on top.  Paul is one of those youth who has proven to be dedicated, resilient, and determined to be the best he can be for himself and for his family.  Paul is in the 10th grade and is doing phenomenally well with his grades. He finished off the previous school year with all A’s even though he experienced some academic struggles earlier in the year. In working with Paul, he gets much of his inspiration from anime and superheroes and transforms it into a way that is applicable to his education. Just like those heroes that he looks up to, Paul knows that he must train to become stronger, but in this case his training is his studies and his strength is his knowledge. Heroes also protect those that they love and Paul has made it clear that he wants to set a good example for his younger brother and younger sister so that they too can always keep their heads up even when faced with challenges. Paul has gone above and beyond entering a summer camp that focuses on sciences in coding and robotics. He has been accepted into a dual enrollment program for the upcoming school year so that he may begin taking college courses while still in high school to get him ahead of the game in pursuing his degree.  I have much faith that Paul with grow to be a successful individual who takes care of his family and will be a role model for many in the future.
