Our Residential Program is licensed to provide a home to 34 children who have been removed from their families due to abuse or neglect. One home is dedicated to serving pregnant and parenting foster teens and their babies, while four homes care for larger sibling groups, enabling them to remain together while in state custody.

The Residential Maternity Program is designed to meet the needs of pregnant and or parenting foster teens and their babies. We are the only program dedicated to this population in Broward County. Residents are 14-18 years old. We teach the skills necessary to successfully care for themselves and their children as they reach adulthood and also target academic, vocational, medical and psychiatric issues. Each foster teen is involved in individual and group therapy, parenting skills and independent living skills. The ultimate goal is to break intergenerational cycle of abuse by altering parenting beliefs, expectations and behaviors, while increasing skills to sustain self sufficiency.

The Residential Sibling Program consists of four homes dedicated to caring for sibling groups in Florida custody. These children range in age from 0-18 years and all enter care with one or more sibling. We utilize a house parent model, in which parents actually live full time on our campus and care for these children in our homes. This consistency of caregiver allows for a home like atmosphere and consistent caring attention from identified professional parents. Each home cares for six foster children, allowing for 24 children in our Sibling Homes. The goal is to reduce the trauma of removal, by maintaining sibling groups, while addressing the issues related to the abuse and/or neglect which necessitated their removal. We teach new skills and nurture a therapeutic environment to break the cycle o f abuse and increase healthy habits and behaviors.

The land and the residential homes are made possible by the City of Pembroke Pines, through funding from the U.S. Department o of Housing and Urban Development, the Community Development Block Grant, as well as the Florida State Housing Initiative Partnership Program.
