(Pembroke Pines, FL) - February 8, 2006 - Children’s Harbor, the Broward County child welfare organization, recently announced their newest board members Romayne P. Berry, Stacy Hallberg, Doreen L. Mahoney, Samuel E. Mathis, Jr., and Mary E. Wood.
Romayne P. Berry is the Senior Vice President of Consulting Services for Right Management Consultants. Prior to joining Right Management, Romayne was Principal & COO with Tower Consultants, Ltd.
Stacey Hallberg is the Vice President and Managing Director for Northern Trust Bank in Delray Beach. She is also president of Stranahan House and has served on their board for 14 years.
Doreen L Mahoney, is the Director of Sales and Marketing for Mahoney & Associates.
Before joining the Board Ms. Mahoney has been active for more than eight years promoting recognition and fund raising events on behalf of Children's Harbor.
Samuel E. Mathis, Jr. is a Diversity Business Strategist and advisor. He worked as the corporate executive for Fortune 500 companies and is now a consultant and advisor to corporate leaders seeking solutions and competitive advantages due to workforce and marketplace diversity.
Mary E. Wood is the Managing Partner for Tatum Partners in South Florida. She has a strong career foundation with over 25 years in Big Eight Public Accounting as well as with large corporations dealing with restructuring, mergers, and integration.
These new board members joined the current 2006 board of directors. They are Chairman of the Board, Martin J. Alexander, Bruce Gant, Sue Glasscock, Gary Glenewinkel, William E. Mahoney, Jr., and Bianca G. Pucci.

Majic 102.7 FM Donates $10,000 to the Children’s Harbor(Pembroke Pines, FL – February 8, 2006) Children’s Harbor, the Broward County child welfare organization, received a $10,000 donation from Majic Childen’s Fund President Rick Shaw. The $10,000 was used to purchase a Ford Taurus for the Children’s Harbor foster parents.
Sue Glasscock President and CEO of Children’s Harbor happily stated, “The car will be used to take the children to the doctor, dental and mental health appointments, as well as to sports and other school activities. We are most grateful to Majic’s Vice President and General Manager, Dennis Miller for supporting us.”
Shaw who is also the morning DJ for Majic 102. 7 said about Children’s Harbor “You folks are in the beginning stages of doing great things for children, and Majic is pleased to be able to help!”
Shaw came out to personally donate the check, to tour the new campus and to meet the foster parents. The Majic Children’s Fund chose the Children’s Harbor as a recipient for the donation as the money would directly impact the lives of children in their service area which is the overall mission of the Fund.

The Children’s Harbor Announces Honorees for Annual Harbor Lights BallKeith Koenig, Ginny Miller and Mayor Frank Ortis To Receive Children’s Choice Awards
Pembroke Pines, FL (March 10, 2006) - Children’s Harbor, the Broward County child welfare organization, recently announced the honorees of their annual Children’s Choice Awards which will be presented at The Harbor Lights Ball on Friday, April 7 at 6:30 pm at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale.
This years honorees are Keith Koenig of City Furniture who will be receiving the Children’s Benefactor Award, Ginny Miller of Miller Construction will be receiving the Children’s Advocate Award and the honorable Frank Ortis, Mayor of Pembroke Pines will be receiving the Family Builder Award.
Additional activities at the ball include a live auction, dinner and dancing. The master of ceremonies for the evening will be Local 10’s morning news anchor, Mark Schumacher. Co-Chairs are Marty Alexander, Gale Butler, and Mary Wood.
Tickets for the Harbor Lights Ball are $200 and all proceeds will benefit Children’s Harbor. Sponsors for the Ball include AutoNation, Citrix Systems, Inc., Holland + Knight, Seminole Tribe of Florida, Sun-Sentinel and Tatum Partners.

The Children’s Harbor Annual Harbor Lights Ball Raised $75,000 for the ChildrenKeith Koenig, Ginny Miller and Mayor Frank Ortis Were Honored
Pembroke Pines, FL (April 12, 2006) - Children’s Harbor, the Broward County child welfare organization, recently held the annual Harbor Lights Ball on Friday, April 7 at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale raised $75,000 for the children of the welfare organization.
The highlight of the annual fundraiser is the 2006 Children’s Choice Awards. This years honorees are Keith Koenig of City Furniture, Ginny Miller of Miller Construction and Sam Goren, Pembroke Pines City Attorney accepted the award for the honorable Mayor Frank Ortis.
Additional activities at the ball included a live auction by the Master of Ceremonies, Mark Shumacher of Channel 10’s morning news, dinner and dancing .
