There are many volunteer opportunites at Children's Harbor. If you are interested or have any questions please contact Tara, the Development Coordinator, at (954)252-3072 ext. 213 or at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

 

Please note: All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to work directly with the children and are subject to a background check, at a cost of $72.10. This must be completed before a volunteer can begin volunteering on the Children's Harbor campus.

Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to go through a similar background check process at a cost of $36.00 before they can begin volunteering.

  

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Children’s Clothing Collection:  Sort donations and organize the Children’s Clothing Collection.  This position’s hours are flexible and is available on an as needed basis.

Administrative:  Assist with light office functions such as filing, copying, making phone calls, database entry, and shredding.  Position is flexible, and may include one time only type projects. 

Maintenance:  Renovations, cleaning, decorating, and like projects in our homes and administrative offices.  Ideal for groups.  Flexible and available on an as needed basis.

Playtime and Tutors/Homework Helpers: Assist our Sibling House Parents with providing homework and playtime help and some minimal dinner preparations.  Must be 18  years  old or older.  Minimum of one day a week from 4pm to 8pm and Saturdays anytime between 9am and 8pm.  

Professional Services:  Professional Landscaping, Web design/Web master, Graphic Design, Hair Cuts, Printing, Special Classes like cooking, sewing, and more. If you have a special skill or trade you would like to donate to Children’s Harbor or share with our children, please contact us and let us know.  We may not be able to utilize your services immediately, but we’d like to keep you in our database of resources for when a need arises.

Special Activities:  Events and activities to celebrate holidays, long weekends or special occasions with the families at Children’s Harbor.  Available on a limited basis. Groups who host activities on campus or individuals who only volunteer once may not be subjected to a background check depending on the situation.
